Modern yet functional; while this Glenview home underwent a complete renovation,
the clients wanted a refreshed landscape with a modern touch. The goal was to create
a modern space used by the family for play and relaxation, yet sophisticated enough
to host adult gatherings. The design focused on functional spaces that look
great from inside or outside the home. A custom concrete paver was laid in a
grid pattern with limestone chip joints to create the main patio. A separate
patio was designed using a permeable base topped with limestone chip to not
disrupt the large Locust tree nearby. A board form concrete fire pit was
designed and poured in place to act as the center piece of the secondary patio.
The planting scheme was kept simple to allow for low maintenance for the busy family.
The updated landscape provides a simple, yet sophisticated space that
compliments the updated style of the home.
